Alterations
*Buckle Move - £45
This involves moving the straps and buckles to make your kilt either tighter or looser.
*Apron Alteration - Starting at £175 (£200 for machine-made kilts)
I will resize the aprons of your existing kilt to fit your new shape and allow you to gain or lose a good amount from the kilt, depending on how it has originally been made.
*Aprons and New Pleats - Starting at £200 (£225 for machine-made kilts) + cost of cloth
As above but adding cloth for an additional cost allowing me to add more pleats and a brand new under apron to add more area to the kilt. This will be most likely if your hip measurement has now crept past 46 inches!
*Shortening - Starting at £175 (£200 for machine-made kilts)
I will take off the original waistband, cut the kilt to the required length, re-shape the kilt and re-attach the waistband. This process avoids hemming the kilt which causes too much bulk at the bottom and doesn't allow for such a good swing or hang.
*Remake - £350 (£400 for machine-made kilts)
As implied by the name, the full remake involves un-picking the entire kilt, and making the kilt to a new size from scratch from the original fabric. Again, this can only be carried out depending on the new sizes required and how the kilt as been made originally.
*I request that all kilts are dry cleaned before alterations are started.
